Torrington, Wyoming – Mark Edward Englebretson, 60, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his home in Torrington, Wyoming.
Casual memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel in Torrington, Wyoming with Pastor Rick Cederholm officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Mark was born June 12, 1953, in Huron, South Dakota the son of Richard John and Joan Nadine (Sporrer) Englebretson. He grew up in Huron, where he graduated high school in 1972. After graduating, he started working right away for the railroad. Mark was able to work for the railroad while he attended college at Black Hills State in Spearfish, South Dakota. He resided in Huron until the railroad closed down; Mark was relocated to the South Morrill yard. Mark met and fell in love with Lynn Taylor. They were married June 12, 1997 and resided in Torrington. He retired from the railroad in October of 2013 with 40 years of service.
Mark collected casino memorabilia, especially casino ashtrays. Together, Mark and Lynn created the website https://nevadacasinoashtrays.org.
Survivors include his wife Lynn of Torrington; his daughters Angela (Steve) Savage of Lynnwood, Washington and Shelby Englebretson of Torrington; his step son Allen Taylor of Gering, Nebraska; and three grandchildren, Casandra Garcia, Marcus Florez and Kyleigh Savage. Preceding him in death were his parents.
